Health Benefits of Cayenne Pepper Cayenne pepper is a hot chili pepper. It is a member of the Capsicum family of vegetables and related to bell peppers, jalapeños and paprika. Cayenne pepper is known by other names such as the Guinea spice, cow-horn pepper, aleva and bird pepper. When ground to powdery form, it is known as red pepper. It is vegetative propagated from capsicum annuum. There are many uses of cayenne pepper as we shall see in this article.
