Persimmon has an abundance of tannin which can cause diarrhea if consumed on an empty stomach. Tannin is a naturally occurring plant polyphone and has astringent taste. As a result, it is advisable to eat persimmon in limited quantity and preferably after taking a meal. It is also noteworthy that diabetics should be wary of persimmon as it contains high amount of sugar which may aggravate their condition if taken.
